About us
From a house congregation to a growing church.
The congregation began in 1952 at Kwadaso in the home of Opanin Moses Antwi. As membership grew, the church expanded its worship space, leadership, evangelism and outreach.
1952
The beginning
The church started as a house congregation at Kwadaso, with founding members who had worshipped at Adum Presbyterian Church.
1955
A temporary worship structure
Land was made available along the main Sunyani road, and Adum Presbyterian Church supported the congregation to put up a temporary structure.
1970
Growing administration
Rev. S. R. Essah became the first pastor to administer Holy Communion to the congregation at Kwadaso.
1981
New site
A temporary structure was constructed on the present site as the congregation pursued a permanent chapel.
1991
First resident pastor
Rev. E. B. Afari became the congregation’s first pastor and was also responsible for fifteen outstations.
1992
Permanent chapel work resumed
Construction on the permanent chapel resumed after a long break, marking another stage of the congregation’s development.

Founding and early growth
Founding members included Opanin Moses Antwi, Opanin Boakye, Messrs Atram Barnes and Ofori Awuku, Mr. and Mrs. Ofosu, Mr. and Mrs. Ayim, Mr. R. O. Koranteng, Miss Regina Dansoaa, Gladys Addo and Miss Gyinae. As the house congregation grew, members sought land for a larger place of worship. Opanin Fordjour of Kwadaso gave land for the purpose, and students from Trinity College in Kumasi took turns preaching on Sundays.
Leadership and evangelism
Leadership developed through catechists and Presbyters. The congregation also engaged in evangelistic work that contributed to preaching posts and congregations at Sepase, Nwoamase and Nsema, alongside house-to-house evangelism in Kwadaso.
New site and building
The congregation later sought a more suitable permanent site. Opanyin Sam Prempeh of Adum Presbyterian Church was instrumental in acquiring the site. A sod-cutting ceremony for a permanent chapel was performed by Rev. F. W. K. Akuffo, and work on the permanent chapel resumed in February 1992 after a long break.

Sunday Service
First service: 7:00am–9:00am. Second service: 9:30am–12:00pm. Joint service every first Sunday: 8:30am–12:00pm.
Morning Prayers
One hour of morning prayer from 7:00am–8:00am.
Communion Service
A reverent time to remember Christ’s sacrifice, renew covenant and gather at the Lord’s Table.
Bible Studies
Prayerful study of Scripture for faith, understanding, spiritual maturity and everyday Christian living.
First-Time Visitors
Visitors are welcomed by the congregation, prayed for, received and followed up by church leadership.
Revival Service
A week for spiritual refreshing, worship, prayer, preaching, healing, restoration and renewal.

Children’s Service
Ages 3–12 learn through songs, Bible stories, memory verses, crafts and play.

Church Choir
An inter-generational music ministry offering anthems, hymns and contemporary songs in worship.
Singing Band
Promotes indigenous Ghanaian Christian music through lively rhythm, harmony and joyful worship.
Bible Study & Prayer Group
Brings members of all ages together to study Scripture and intercede for church, community and individuals.
Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade
Develops young people through disciplined training, drills, camping, Christian education and leadership.
